privacy policy: mind

last updated: 24 june 2026

summary: mind does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data. there are no accounts, no servers we control, no tracking, and no analytics. your reflections stay yours.

1. what we collect

nothing. mind has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. we do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or any usage or analytics data. we have no backend server that receives your information.

2. your data and where it lives

everything you enter (your questions, your daily answers, your streak, your reminder time, and your settings) is stored locally on your device.

if you are signed in to icloud and icloud drive is enabled, the app also saves a single file (mind.json) to your own private icloud account so the same data is available on your other devices. this sync happens directly between your devices and apple's icloud under your apple id. we never see, receive, or have access to this data. it is governed by apple's icloud terms and privacy policy.

if icloud is unavailable or turned off, the app works fully offline using only on-device storage.

3. export and import

you can export all of your data to a json file at any time from the settings screen, and import it again later. these files are created and read only on your device and are shared only where you choose to send them (for example, saving to files). we are not involved in that transfer.

4. third parties

mind contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking sdks. the only external service involved is apple icloud, and only when you have it enabled, acting on your behalf within your own account.

5. notifications

if you enable the daily reminder, the app schedules local notifications on your device. these are generated on-device and are not push notifications; no data leaves your device to deliver them.

6. children

mind does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

7. data deletion

because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete. to remove your data, delete the app (which removes its on-device storage) and remove the mind.json file from your icloud drive.

8. changes

if this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same location and the "last updated" date above will change.

think of the planet, don't print this web site.
